The Challenge
The pandemic has transformed almost everything into virtual activities, including schools. Students today have to attend classes online. With their presence online, it is inevitable for students to multitask - working on academic requirements while scrolling through social media news feed. This reduces the student's productivity as well as delaying their time to finish the task at hand. As a result, some may not be able to pass requirements within the deadline.
The Solution
Aquarium is a gamified mobile application. Users take care of their virtual pet by completing tasks within the deadline. This allows users to earn virtual coins, which can then be used to buy materials to help nourish their pet. Users can utilize the Pomodoro technique to focus on the task-at-hand. Failure to focus within the specified time will affect their pet's health. Moreover, users can focus together with their friends or study buddies by using the app's feature 'Save Together'.
